Dublin Event Guide: April 2025

Dublin is alive in April with vibrant events catering to all interests. The Irish capital offers something for everyone, from music concerts to sporting events and cultural celebrations.

Music

April brings an impressive lineup of international artists to Dublin’s stages, such as:

  • New Music Dublin (various locations, Wednesday, April 2 – Sunday, April 6): An annual new music festival for curious minds. Dublin will see a whopping 25+ live performances all across the city.
  • The Beatles-The Two of Us (April 3, The Helix ): RTÉ Concert Orchestra celebrate one of the greatest songwriting duos in history, Lennon/McCartney, with The Two of Us, the story of John Lennon and Paul McCartney live at The Helix.
  • David Gray (April 5, 3Arena ): David Gray will bring his Past & Present Tour to the 3Arena, offering a mix of old and new hits.
  • Sean Paul and Ashanti (April 8, 3Arena): The two artists will bring their unique blend of reggae and R&B to Dublin for one promising night of entertainment.
  • Finneas (April 13-14, Olympia Theatre): Finneas will perform his  For Cryin’ Out Loud! tour. Known for his introspective songwriting and captivating live performances, Finneas is set to deliver an intimate and engaging show at the Olympia Theatre.
  • Sugababes (April 20, 3Arena): The Sugababes will take the stage with special guests Rose Gray and Luna, promising an electrifying night of iconic pop music. Their performance will feature a selection of their most popular songs, including “Round Round” and “Push the Button.”
  • Andrea Bocelli Concert Tour (April 27 and 28, 3Arena): Andrea Bocelli, the world-renowned tenor, will perform two consecutive nights at Dublin’s 3Arena.

Sports:

April will not be the most sport-heavy month of the year, but here’s some events lined up:

  • Leinster vs Ulster: On April 19, Leinster will face Ulster in the BKT United Rugby Championship at the Aviva Stadium. 
  • Energia All Ireland League Men’s and Women’s Finals: The finals will take place on April 27, at the Aviva Stadium. This event will showcase the best Irish rugby at the club level, with both men’s and women’s teams competing for the top honors.

Cultural Events

March is rich with cultural celebrations, such as:

  • One Dublin One Book (Tuesday, April 1 – Wednesday, April 30): One Dublin One Book is a Dublin City Council initiative led by Dublin City Libraries that encourages everyone to read a book connected with the capital city during the month of April.
  • Irish Famine Exhibition (Tuesday, April 1 – Tuesday, September 30): This exhibition tells the story of what happened during those horrific years. The show displays rare 19th-century photographs, witness accounts, and contemporary sketches, as well as maps and statistical information. 
  • N.I.C.E. Italian Film Festival Ireland (Various Locations, Thursday, April 3 – Sunday, April 6): A selection of the best Italian films is coming to four cities, including Dublin. Ten films have been selected for a total of 22 screenings: from new fans of Italian culture to those who already crowd the numerous events of the Institute’s Lunedì al Cinema.
  • Spring Fair (Richmond Barracks, Saturday, April 5 – Sunday, April 6): As we prepare for the Easter break and for summer, this fair celebrates spring. The theme for the fair is “renewal.”
  • Dockers (The Ambassador Theatre, Tuesday, April 8 – Saturday, April 12): Dockers is a historical musical narrative of Dublin docks, people, and places. It is a way of life consigned to history and is full of culture and traditions. All of which are brought back to life on stage.
  • BASED Festival (Button Factory, Monday, April 14): BASED Music Festival is Ireland’s first of its kind— designed to make live music more inclusive and accessible for young artists and fans. This groundbreaking event spotlighted the next generation of indie rock talent, bringing together some of the most exciting emerging artists nationwide.
  • Dublin Learning City Festival (April 7- 9): the event is made to celebrate and promote learning for everyone with a whoppinf total of 200 fun, interactive, and creative events that are completely free of charge.

Other:

  • Dublin Coffee Festival (RDS, April 12-13): This event is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts. It features live competitions, cuppings, tastings, talks, and live music.
  • Easter Egg Hunts: Various family-friendly Easter egg hunts will be held at locations like Dublin Zoo, offering fun activities for children during the Easter period
