A TD for Dublin South Central has spoken out against the Government for not announcing a date for the upcoming general election.
“It is clear that the Government is playing silly games with the election date,” Joan Collins told The Liberty.
Taoiseach, Simon Harris has confirmed that the election will go ahead before the end of the year but hasn’t confirmed a date.
Collins went on to say “They are taking every opportunity to keep the opposition off balance as they know that the Government’s record on housing, health and public services is atrocious and that a €250 energy credit is not going to change that.”
The general election must go ahead before March of 2025. The Irish Independent reported that Harris and coalition leader expect it to be held on November 22, 29 or December 6.
The most likely polling date is November 29. Harris has confirmed it will be held on a Friday.
