The Liberties May mental health initiative

Smart D8 is using May to focus on mental health and wellbeing, with free workshops throughout the month. 

There will be limited tickets to these events, so it’s on a first come first served basis. To get tickets you can visit Eventbrite. 

The seven mental health and wellbeing workshops are: 

“EVERYONE CAN MEDITATE” workshop by Matt Burke, founder of the Magic Minds podcast and Foundation, on May 21st, from 1 pm to 2 pm at the iD8 Studio at The Gatelodge. Matt Burke is an important figure in the Dublin 8 community especially in the heart of The Liberties.

“ADHD PARENTING” workshop by Tusla – Child and Family Agency – on May 15th, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the iD8 Studio at The Gatelodge.  

“NEW AUTHORITY PARENTING” workshop by Tusla – Child and Family Agency – on May 8th, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the iD8 Studio at The Gatelodge. 

“MANAGING YOUR ANXIETY” workshop by Turn2Me’s esteemed CEO, on May 22nd, from 1pm to 2pm at The Learning Studio in The Digital Depot. 

“PRIORITISING WELL-BEING AND MENTAL HEALTH” workshop by artist Philippa Donnellan, Common Ground, and The Family Resource Centre St Michael’s Estate, on May 28th, from 10 am to 12 pm at The Bank on Thomas Street. 

“LAUGHTER YOGA” session by Simone Meschnig, Laughter Yoga Leader and Sound Healing Practitioner, on May 29th, from 1 pm to 2 pm at the iD8 Studio in The Gatelodge. 

“MANAGING BURNOUT AND STRESS: IS BOSS THE BOSS OF YOU?” talk by St Patrick’s Mental Health Services Programme Manager, Debbie Van Tonder, on May 30th from 12:30 to 1:45 in the Conference Room at St Patrick’s University Hospital.
