Wetherspoon has completed the development of their new hotel and pub in Camden Street Upper and Lower.
Wetherspoon has invested a total of 33.4 million euros into the new Keavan’s Port hotel and pub. The company purchased the property for six million euros and invested a further 27.4 million into renovations. This has been the Wetherspoons largest investment to date.
“We are delighted to have completed the development. in Keavan’s Port.” said Wetherspoon chief executive, John Hutson. The hotel is made up of eight Georgian townhouses, with a chapel and an extension with a 12-meter glazed atrium. The hotel will have 89 bedrooms accompanied with an en suite and a 3,800 square foot garden.
The Keavan’s Port hotel and pub will employ 200 full and part time staff. The pub will be managed by the experienced Fillip Mordack. Mordack has worked with Wetherspoon pubs since 2007, and he previously managed The Forty Foot in Dun Laoghaire and The Silver Penny on Abbey Street, Dublin.
Chief executive of Wetherspoon, John Hudson said “We believe that the pub and hotel will be a great asset to Dublin and will hopefully act as a catalyst for other businesses to invest in the city.”
There is no official opening date set for the Keavan’s Port hotel and pub as of yet. Wetherspoon’s Keavan’s Port opening is subject to a license they are waiting to be granted. However, Wetherspoon is aiming to have the pub and hotel open by January 15 2021.
