An Bord Pleanála greenlit 368 student bed spaces in the Liberties that promise to be a more high-end accommodation for students.
Summix FRC Developments Ltd is the company that will help build the project named the Ardee Point Student Accommodation. However the project is actually operated by UK-based student accommodation operator NIDO student.
NIDO Student is known for offering higher end products to their residents including 24/7 security and night concierge service, housekeeping, maintenance and an ‘experiential events programme’ focusing on social, learning and career events.
Nido Student say they position themselves differently from standard student operators by providing accommodation akin to a “boutique hotel and a range of services and events for both the residents and the local community”.
The accommodation on St Luke’s Avenue will range from between two to eight storeys high. This planned student residence is to have a gym and a cinema room.
Planning permission is already in place for 349 student bed-spaces at the site which brings up the total planning permission has been granted for student bed spaces to 3,888 within 1km of the site in the capital.
The rents are likely to be high, and local objectors have been protesting “studentification” of the area.
