Love D8: Celebrating all things Dublin 8

This year marks the second year in a row of the Love D8 Community Fair. Taking place in St Catherine’s Church on Thomas Street this Saturday between 11am amd 4pm, it’s sure to be a lively and exciting event so don’t miss a chance to attend! 

Dublin City Council has partnered up with St Patrick’s Cathedral and The Liberties to ensure a day filled with fun activities and entertainment for all. Admission is free but registering online is encouraged. Register here.

A series of zones will be scattered throughout St Catherine’s Church including: HealthyD8,

LearningD8, Clean&GreenD8, WorkingD8, CulturalD8 and CommunityD8. They cater to everyday life and encourage people of all ages to take part. Along with those, a special lunchtime concert will take place with pop-up performances, several entertainers, a raffle upon admission and a free photobooth for families and friends. Attendants can also get information on what plans businesses have to offer and other events coming up In the area.

Already 1,000 people have registered online to attend the event online. Kelley Bermingham, community officer of St Patrick’s Cathedral, stated that the event was targeted for the 35,000 homes in the Liberties area, but all are welcome. 

“Last year, we had a 2,000 people turnout between a two-hour window,” as opposed to a five-hour window this year. “With it being on a Saturday between 11am and 4pm, it’s great for parents and their kids and no stress of homework or anything.”
