Crystals and tarot cards have been a mysterious topic for centuries. But what does it really mean to believe in the energetic properties of crystals and tarot cards?
The Liberty went to a little shop called Dervish, located in Aungier Street, which has a holistic centre and a bookstore under the same roof.
The Liberty spoke with one of the Dervish shop employees, who wished not to be named, about newest tarot card’s and crystal’s trends.
The employee said that she noticed a growing popularity of such practices, in her opinion this is because “people are being drawn back to a more disillusioned way of thinking”.
However, the woman did warn that tarot cards ”can be quite addictive”.
“When anyone ever comes into the store and asks for their fortune to be told I get quite hesitant to do it because that’s not how the cards work,” she said.
Tarot cards are only a guide, but, unfortunately, popular culture has depicted a misleading idea about a fortune tellers. As a result, people think that the cards can tell you exactly what’s going to happen in your life.
If you break down the cards in a tarot reading there are two sides to the readings: the major and the minor arcana.
The major arcana consists of 22 cards and each card is supposed to represent life stages in a person’s life. These cards are seen as quite consistent and difficult to change compared to the minor arcana.
The minor arcana consists of 56 cards, like in a traditional card deck, with each suit represented by different sign. These cards can tell about everyday activities of a person’s life and are much easier to change.
Who knows, maybe one day we will come to a point where we won’t need cards to find the answers we are looking for in life.
