The culinary scene has changed dramatically in recent years, our beloved capital is bursting with creative restaurants, cafés and food concepts. There truly is something for everyone, and our little corner of Dublin is no different. We’ve chosen four places in the Liberties for the days you might feel like trying something a little out of the ordinary.
Container Coffee
A quirky café inside a construction style container, Container Coffee is located on Thomas Street and is known for excellent brownies, cappuccinos, and iced lattes.
A contemporarily decorated space with colourfully painted benches out the back, Container Coffee is a perfect location for a caffeine fix.
Dublin Cookie company
A unique store and café that is based around freshly baked cookies made on the premises, the Dublin Cookie Company is an interesting find on Thomas Street.
After testing out a few flavours we recommend the white chocolate and cranberry cookie, while the lemon burst cookie had more of a cake texture. The cookies are more chewy than crunchy, but the shops character makes it a good spot to try once if passing by.
Two Pups café
Located on Francis street, this small café is one that not only you can enjoy but your dog is welcome too.
Serving specialty coffee beans, it’s a must visit for Dublin’s coffee culture fanatics and it is also popular for its avocado on toast.
Its simplistic atmosphere and minimalistic décor makes it a cool spot to grab a coffee and a cake mid dog walk.
Pang
A new Vietnamese style concept being served up on Kevin Street. The most popular and unusual of their dishes is the rice paper rolls.
With fresh ingredients and homemade dipping sauces, the rice paper rolls are quirky, but perhaps not to everyone’s taste. Having tried various types, we recommend the smoked salmon rolls for those of you with a more adventurous palate.
