Dublin GAA players will be passing their knowledge and skills on to upcoming
Dublin sportsmen and women at an underage, advanced hurling, camogie and football camp at Good Counsel GAA & Camogie Club.
On Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd of February the camp will run for girls and boys playing at under 13s level up to those playing at under 18s level. The camp is not only open to Good Counsel GAA members, but also to surrounding clubs as it is a regional camp and welcomes young sport enthusiasts. Good Counsel GAA & Camogie Club have ran over half a dozen sporting camps for young people coached by Dublin players in recent years.
Among the Dublin sports players who will be on hand at this month’s camp will be Ciarán Kilkenny. The Dublin senior gaelic footballer will be coaching the boys on the Tuesday of the camp. The young girls will be playing camogie on the Tuesday. The Wednesday of the camp will then consist of hurling for the boys and camogie for the girls.
The other Dublin players who will be in attendance at the camp have not yet been confirmed. The main reason for this being that some primary schools are taking a shorter midterm break than others and sports players which Good Counsel would have liked to have at the camps are primary teachers and so their availability depends on when their school’s midterm break falls. With this said, it is hoped that a minimum of two more Dublin players will be on hand over the two days as well as Ciarán Kilkenny.
If you wish to book a place at the camp, you can find a contact number on the Good Counsel website or Facebook page. The cost of the camp is ten euro per child.
