Summer is almost here and when it’s hot outside that means a lot of work for your beauty regime. From choosing sandals to taking care of your hair, here’s a collection of summer beauty tips.
Use lip balm with SPF as lips are incredibly sensitive to UV rays from the sun.
To get a smoother shave wait at least 3 minutes after getting in the shower before you shave. Hot water softens the hair, allowing for a closer and smoother shave.
To extend the life of your razor a few days and ensure a smoother shave, drizzle some oil on the blade. Oil prevents rust and product build-up, which can cause nicks and cuts.
Avoid ponytail holders with a small metal bar as they can snag hair and cause split ends, especially when hair is wet and weaker after swimming.
Before swimming, comb sunscreen through your strands; this forms a barrier that prevents chlorine and salt water from stripping your colour and drying out your hair.
Use a little bronzer to get a healthy glow if you haven’t had any sun yet this season. Apply where the sun naturally hits your face – your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin.
Don’t think once you’ve slathered on one coat of sunscreen, you are good to go for the whole day. Sunscreen should be applied every two hours.
Even if it’s waterproof, you should still reapply sunscreen after you’ve taken a dip, towelled off or even if you’ve just been perspiring.
Don’t shy away from wedges. While the thickness of the heel intimidates many, they are comfortable, practical and slimming! Chunky heels lengthen and flatter legs that aren’t in tip-top shape.
