Jim Henson’s legendary The Muppets are returning to the big screen for the first time since 1999’s Muppets From Space.

This latest adventure brings us the return of all our favourite characters with the addition of some new faces.

A celebrity filled affair is in store as Walter, the world’s biggest Muppets fan and a Muppet himself, sets off to Hollywood, Los Angeles with his simpleton brother Gary (Jason Segal) and his not-so-sharp fiancée Mary (Amy Adams).

While visiting the Muppet studios Walter learns of a plan by evil oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to demolish the studios to drill for oil.

It is here that the adventure begins as Walter, Gary and Mary enlist the help of Kermit the frog to save the studios.

The plan is to stage ‘The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever’ and raise $10million to save the studios.

So they set off around the world to reunite the old gang who have gone their separate ways.

This movie is full of easy and light hearted humour.  The characters openly acknowledge, and poke fun at, the film’s storyline and clichés making the whole thing outrageously funny.

The unexpected musical aspect of the film should have been incredibly cringe worthy as many of the actors cannot sing, but the self-deprecating jokes resulted in a comedic effect.  The film carried flawlessly from start to finish.

Cameos from A-list celebrities like Selena Gomez, Emily Blunt and Whoopi Goldberg gives The Muppets that ‘cool’ factor it needs to stay relevant.

The Muppets are again set to be a raging success as the cute, furry characters appeals to kids, while the humour and general banter will have genuine laughs from the adults.
