Starbucks opens on Aungier Street

Starbucks has opened a coffee shop on Aungier Street, with the doors opening in late April.

“The store will offer 20 job opportunities and our great quality coffee to the local community,” a Starbucks spokesperson told The Liberty.

Starbucks is taking up residence in the Avalon House building on Aungier Street. A spokesperson there confirmed to The Liberty that “a Starbucks is being built instead of the Avalon coffee shop”.

There will now be more than 50 Starbucks branches throughout Dublin county, the first of which opened in August 2005 in Dundrum.

Starbucks opened a store last March on Drury Street, which brought complaints from Councillor Mannix Flynn on planning issues.

The Bald Barista cafe, of 68 Aungier Street, originally opened in Avalon House, but was forced to switch locations after a rent increase. When asked about the new Starbucks.
